Today we had a visit from some puppets. David, who came to the school last year, came back to share some more fun and stories with us. Everyone got together in the morning to hear from the 'naughty puppet' who the children met last here and then we were told the story of Hansel and Gretel.
The naughty puppet who wouldn't say sorry.
Gretel walking in the woods
Trapped by the witch
The witch appears...
Hansel and Gretel try to sneak past the snake guarding them...
...but Gretel steps on a twig and wakes the snake up!
The witch and the snake chasing Hansel and Gretel.
In the afternoon P2 got together for a workshop with David where we got to try out the puppets ourselves.
Learning about moving the mouth to match the syllables in the words so it looks real.
Choosing our puppets.
Trying out our 'puppet voices'.
Talking to each other.
We then told the story of the Pied Piper using our puppets.
The people Hamelin were very fed up with all the rats.
Rats, rats, nasty rats!
The rats having a disco!
The council trying to work out what to do...
The Pied Piper arrives and offers to solve the problem.
The rats following the Pied Piper.
The Pied Piper was angry at the council for not paying them so he led at the children away.
A super afternoon which everyone enjoyed!
