The Skeleton

Today we worked together to make a skeleton using split pins to show the joints. We learned that we have a skeleton to hold us together and to protect our organs, and we have joints so we can move properly.

Fractions

 Today we took maths outside as it was such a lovely day. We are learning about fractions this week and started by thinking about halves. We worked with a partner to draw a shape and then we had to decide if we were going to half it properly or not. Our partner then had to check it and correct it we had done it wrong. 

 We then started thinking about halving numbers as well as shapes and discussed the fact you can only half even numbers. We worked with our partners again to half lots of numbers. 

When we came inside we had a go at being the teacher and saying numbers which everyone else had to half in their heads - we had to remember to only say even numbers. 

We then used a worksheet to make sure we knew what a half was and what it looked like. We know that for there to be two halves they have to be exactly the same. 

Hand Washing

Today we have been learning about the importance of hand washing and how to wash our hands properly. We learned a little song about washing our hands which was fun. 

We also learned the proper way to was our hands and took photos of each of the stages.

We then started making posters about the importance of hand washing which we hope to use in the school. 

Giving Change

This week in maths we've been learning about giving change when paying for items. We worked in pairs to play shops and work how much much change we needed to give each other. 

Giving change can be quite hard work but P2L worked really hard and have made super progress.
