Our Assembly

Today we had our P2 Assembly which we did with the Bumblebees. Our assembly was on kindness and how important it is to be kind to others. We really enjoyed performing to everyone and Miss Rendall and Miss Scott were very proud of us! :)

Visiting the Bird Hide

Today we took our topic lesson outside. We spent time looking at our birds cakes to see if they had been eaten and visiting the bird hide down in the wild garden. It was such a lovely sunny afternoon and we all enjoyed being outside.

It was great to see out bird cakes hanging outside and we're pretty sure they looked like they had been pecked by some birds. Thank you to Conrad for hanging them up!

Looking out the window in the bird hide.

Can you see any birds?

Looking at the posters of the different kinds of birds we might see

Looking at some photos of birds.

We really enjoyed using the binoculars in the bird hide

We then went a walk round the maze to see if we could spot any more birds.

It was great to see blue sky!

We found a nest up the trees which was very exciting.

Using our binoculars outside.

The Man on the Flying Trapeze

Today Miss Rendall was treated to a special performance of The Man on the Flying Trapeze by P2 Ladybirds. The class have been working on this song with Mrs Keldie in music and have done a super job. There was a choir and 4 groups on chimes and they all sounded great.

Well done P2L on a super performance!

Numbers to 100

Today we have been looking at numbers to 100. We used the smart board to look at how to add using a hundred square and the different strategies we can use.

We then worked with a partner to develop these skills and challenged each other with various addition calculations.

Working with a partner means we have something to work with if we're unsure of something. It's also lots of fun working with someone else!

Outdoor Maths

On Monday we went outside for maths and had great fun in the fresh air. We started by counting in 2's, 5's and 10's while doing some actions to help us remember the numbers.

Counting 10 2s

5, 10, 15...

...80, 90, 100!

We then played Clock Tower to help us understand the concept of clockwise and anticlockwise.

We then had a chance to be the teacher and test everyone on different times.

Lastly, we had a go at estimating how long different periods of time were. We had to jog for 10 seconds to start with - it was interesting to find out that a second is actually longer than we thought it was.

Jumping on the spot for 30 seconds.

Jogging on the spot for 1 minutes - it was hard work jogging and counting to 60!
