Pinatas

Today in Art we were working on our pinatas that we have been making with all the junk we took in. Once they are finished we are going to paint them in different 'flight themed' designs.

Happy Holidays everyone! :)

An afternoon with the Bumblebees

Yesterday afternoon we worked with the Bumblebees to paint our rockets. We had lots of fun and our rockets look even better now they're painted.

We also had the chance to do some choosing time with P2B and explore the choosing time activities in each classroom.

Looking at books in P2B

Playing maths games

Lots of painting going on!

Exploring the under water tray

Playing with the dolls house

Using the sand tray to improve handwriting

There was some great teamwork and problem solving happening at the construction area

The writing table was a popular choice

The construction area in P2B

Comparing models

Lots more painting

The writing table in the shared area

The maths table

Lots of letters and patterns being drawn

Some final painting photos

The dolls house is also very popular

Thank you Bumblebees for a lovely afternoon!

How much do you have?

We have been learning more about adding money this week. Yesterday we worked with partners to calculate how much money each other had. We chose coins and then asked each other to add it up.

We chose quite challenging amounts and then worked together to add it up.

Explorer Day

Today we had Explorers' Day at school and we had some great outfits in P2 Ladybirds...

An Arctic Explorer

A solider

Bear Grylls

Ellen MaCarthur

Nina and The Neurons

Miss Rendall and Miss Scott dressed up as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin because we were learning all about the first men on the moon as part of our Flight topic.

We worked with the Bumblebees to learn all about Apollo 11's mission.

We thought about the type of suit you would wear and what else you might need on the moon because there is so little gravity.

We watched a video of the astronauts landing on the moon.

We then played Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?  to see how good we were at remembering all the information we had learned - we did very well!

We then worked to make our own rockets which we will paint tomorrow.

Many thanks to everyone to gave us junk - it is much appreciated!

Explorers' Day was lots of fun!
