Addition

In maths this term we are learning about addition and subtraction. We spent time today discussing and trying the various strategies you can use when adding. We also discussed the language used when adding numbers and how adding results in a bigger number. 

Sometimes we use our fingers or do the calculation mentally.

Sometimes we like using cubes or counters to add bigger numbers.

We also played a class game with a foam dice where we had to add two numbers together using the 'counting on method'. This is where you hold the biggest number in your head and then count on from there.
