Birds

Last week looked at different types of birds that we may have seen in our gardens or while out and about. We also looked at more exotic birds that we may have seen in a wildlife park or a zoo. We then chose our favourite bird and each wrote a few sentences explaining why we liked it. We came up with super reasons and wrote some great sentences. 

We also looked at different birds that can't fly and discussed why this was. We learned that penguins can't fly because their wings are too short but they do make great swimmers and while ostriches can't fly either their wings help them balance as they run very fast.
