In Topic last week we were learning about the heart and how it works. We learned it is a very important organ as it pumps blood round the body. We did an experiment called Beat the Heart to see if we could pass 2 and a half litres of water from one container to the next in 30 seconds as that is the amount of blood the heart pumps round our body in that time. We worked in pairs and one person timed while the other person tried the challenge. It was quite hard, and while no one managed to beat the heart, a few people were very close!
We also spent time some finding our pulse and found out it is faster after we have been running as our heart has to pump the blood much quicker.
